Goalkeeper Glove Cuts Explained
Negative cut — Seams inside, tightest fit. Preferred by most pros (Alisson, Courtois). Best for feel & touch.
Roll finger — Latex wraps fingers, more padding. Best for shot-stopping power. Bulkier feel.
Hybrid / Roll-Negative — Negative on index/middle, roll on ring/pinky. The modern default for many pros.
Flat palm — Classic, flat seams, looser fit. Easier for younger keepers learning glove feel.
GK Glove Latex — Match vs Training
Pro / Match latex (German Contact, 4mm) — Maximum grip, minimal lifespan (~6–10 matches if used hard). Save for games.
All-weather latex — Slightly less grip, much better durability across wet & dry. Good for unpredictable conditions.
Training latex — Hardest compound, lasts months. Always train in cheaper gloves and save your match pair.
Wash gloves in lukewarm water after every game. Never let palms dry out — re-wet them slightly before kickoff for peak grip.

Caring for Goalkeeper Gear
Gloves: rinse in lukewarm water after every match, air-dry palm-up away from direct sun. Never machine-wash or tumble-dry — heat destroys latex.
Jerseys: wash inside-out, cold cycle, no fabric softener (clogs the moisture-wicking fibres).
Pants: the padded hip & thigh panels degrade fastest — rotate two pairs across the season if you're a regular starter.
